2021 Chili Cookoff Winners with our Vice President

Thank you to everyone who came out to Doc’s Garage in Lexington for the 6th annual Three Rivers Region Chili Cookoff! It wouldn’t have been such a great success without you. For those of you who couldn’t attend, we hope to see you at next year’s event. We had more than 35 members in attendance with us this year and it proved to be a great way to bond, meet some new faces and catch up with others.

There were more than 10 different types of chili to choose from this year and an assortment of sides and desserts to pair. Spirits were high and everyone was having a great time!

To get the festivities started, Rock lead Porsche Trivia with the first four correct answers getting a Porsche hat graciously provided by McDaniel’s Porsche. In true fashion, some of the questions separated the historians from the fans, including difficult questions such as, “What is Ferdinand Porsche’s Birthday?” and “Who was the manufacturer and what was the horsepower rating of the first engine in the first Porsche?”

Skip wins one of the hats.

Our love of the cars and the brand bring us together as a club, but at the end of the day it’s all about the people. Many of our members brought their family along with to the cookoff, including Mrs. Atkins and her two boys.

Once the official festivities came to a close many of the members stuck around for some continued fellowship and conversation. It can be so hard to part ways when you’re with a group of people who all care about the same thing. Conversations can easily carry out into the parking lot, which is always a good time to take a look at who’s doing what with their track builds, even when it’s 34 degrees outside.

Many thanks go out to Doc’s Garage in Lexington, SC for hosting us! We couldn’t have had the great event we did without the use of your amazing facility. Most of us find ourselves right at home in the garage and we love what you’re doing for our members!

Retraction: An error was made in the name of the kind woman with her sons in the photo stating it was Tracy McDaniels-Miller, it is actually Mrs. Atkins and her boys. We issue our sincerest apology for the error in article and caption. Don’t post before you’ve had your morning coffee.
